Traditional methods often lead to patient discomfort, risk oftube dislodgement or displacement, and potential nasal damage. Dislodged tubes can increase the risk ofinfection, requiring additional interventions and complications.KEY MEASURES FOR IMPROVEMENT:The Angie headband provides a secure and comfortable alternative to traditional methods, minimisingskin irritation. The headband's design ensures the tube remains securely in place, reducing the risk ofdisplacement, is easy to apply and adjust, simplifying the process for both patients and healthcareprofessionals.PROCESS OF GATHERING INFORMATION:The team analyses the patient's needs and considers the potential risks of the traditional method andbenefits of using the headband method. The team then interprets this information to develop apersonalised plan for securing the tube.ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION:Assessing the patient's individual needs and preferences regarding tube placement and comfort.Considering potential risks such as skin irritation, tube displacement, and discomfort. Examining thepotential benefits of using the headband method, such as improved comfort and reduced risk ofcomplications.STRATEGIES FOR CHANGE:The team develops strategies for implementing the headband method, ensuring a smooth transition forpatients and healthcare providers. This involves educating the staff about the method, providing trainingon proper application, and monitoring patient outcomes.EFFECT OF CHANGE:The Angie Headband has undergone several testing on patients, a satisfaction survey was done and theresult demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing tube displacement significantly and increasing patientself-esteem. The Angie Headband allows patients freedom of movement, encouraging their participationin daily activities. The headband simplifies the process of securing the tube, saving time and resources forhealthcare professionals.THE NEXT STEP:Building strategic partnerships with key distributors and healthcare organisations to ensure widespreadadoption of the Angie Headband.189 | Page
