questionnaires. BMI was calculated by weight (kg) divided by the square of height (m2) and
categorised according to WHO 1998 guidelines. Descriptive analysis and Kruskal-Wallis H Test
were used to analyse the data in SPSS Version 21. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
RESULTS:The median sugar intake among adults consuming self-prepared drinks daily was
13.4 grams/day (IQR: 6.8, 25.2). From the total respondents in this study, 51.6% of them were
males, ≥55 years old (36.0%), of Malay ethnicity (66.6%), married (71.2%,) with secondary
school education level (47.5%) and employed (57.4%). Among the socio-demographic
characteristics, there were significant differences in sugar intake by gender, age, ethnicity,
marital status, educational level and employment status.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION: Malaysian adults who drank self-prepared drinks daily were
consuming approximately three teaspoons of sugar from these drinks alone.

INTRODUCTION: Entomological surveillance is a key component to interrupt malaria
transmission. Entomological data can be integrated with Geographic Information System
(GIS) and global positioning system technologies to develop a robust and real time monitoring
tool. Objective of this study was to map the distribution of malaria vectors in Malaysia.
METHODS: This study utilized data from entomological surveillance reports conducted by
Entomology and Pest Sector in the year 2020. All secondary data were extracted into
standardized entomological data framework prior analysis. Geospatial data of study sites
were generated from Google engine site and entomological data were overlaid on the map.
Coordinates then were input, overlaid and processed by ArcGIS software
RESULTS: Seven (7) species of malaria vectors were present Malaysia, i.e., Anopheles
maculatus, Anopheles sundaicus, Anopheles latens, Anopheles letifer, Anopheles donaldi,
Anopheles balabacensis and Anopheles flavirostris. Some localities recorded multiple
presence of malaria vectors, for instance Kg Limbuak Laut, Kudat, Sabah shown the presence
Anopheles balabacensis, Anopheles flavirostris and Anopheles sundaicus.
DISCUSSION/CONCLUSION: The distribution and composition of malaria vectors are
important to initiate an effective intervention based on species. By exploiting the
entomological data and advancement of GIS, malaria vector surveillance is fortified.

INTRODUCTION: The habit of fast food consumption was increased among young generation
in both developed and developing countries. The changes and transition in lifestyle and
dietary habits of people which lead into unhealthy food intakes. This study aims to explore
the factors influencing fast food consumption among adolescent.
