Last but not least, the final session on ‘Data Envelopment Analysis For Ambulance Services In the Ministry
Of Health Malaysia’ was given by the Head of the Centre of CHeER, Dr. Nor Zam Azihan. The session was
moderated by Ms. Noor Syahireen from Clinical Research Centre, Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah. The talk
aimed to share the experiences and findings of a local study, and how the evidence can be applied to
guide policymakers. We received many questions about the challenges faced in conducting such studies
in Malaysia and the tools that can be used.
Echoing the panel of distinguished speakers, this workshop shall be the very first step to many more
learning experiences and collaborations to improve the efficiency and productivity of our healthcare
system. As Albert Einstein once said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different
results”, it is about time we investigate how we do things now so that we can take the necessary steps for
an age of change
