6. SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE STUDY
More studies are needed to understand the influence of SDH among EMGs
as the current pandemic is very dynamic and still uncertain. Mixed methods
research will be required to fully understand the complex interplay between
the various biological, social, and cultural factors underlying these early
findings. These studies are also needed to guide the science of community-
engaged intervention development, implementation, and evaluation and lay
the foundation for a system wide goal of decreasing health disparities beyond
the effects of COVID-19. The pandemic presents a window of opportunity
for achieving greater equity in the health care of all vulnerable group such
as EMGs.
