This finding was corroborated by a baseline survey in October2022, which indicated that only 15% of prediabetes patients in KKPB had HbA1c levels <5.7%(normoglycemia). This study aimed to raise the proportion of individuals achieving normoglycemia.KEY MEASURES FOR IMPROVEMENT:The indicator was the percentage of prediabetics achieving normoglycemia with a standard of 35% basedon the literature, with every six-month monitoring to track the progress of prediabetic patients.PROCESS OF GATHERING INFORMATION:A pre-remedial study was conducted from December 2022 to January 2023. Excel and Google Formswere used to determine the percentage of HbA1c at baseline, followed by two cross-sectional studies toassess patients%u2019 and medical officers%u2019 (MO) knowledge of prediabetes using an adapted self-administeredquestionnaire. Post remedial study was done in December 2023 to assess the effectiveness ofinterventions.ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION:During the pre-remedial study, only 23.7% of prediabetes patients had normoglycemia. There was poorknowledge of prediabetes among MO (71.4%) and patients (40%) initially.STRATEGIES FOR CHANGE:Strategies for improvement included continuous medical education and implementation of clerkingtemplates and registries. Additionally, prediabetes patients received interventions from a multidisciplinaryand dedicated prediabetes reversal clinic team to improve lifestyle changes and behaviour.EFFECT OF CHANGE:The percentage of prediabetes patients with reversal to normoglycemia increased from 23.7% to 31.4%during the first assessment cycle. The Achievable Benefit Not Achieved (ABNA) reduced from 11.3% to3.6%.THE NEXT STEP:The next audit cycle will be conducted by December 2024 to assess the progress of quality improvementactivities as well as ongoing updates and improvements to enhance the prediabetes registry's usability andaccessibility.55 | Page
