                                    PROFESSOR DR MAZNAH DAHLUI

As the Co-Chair of the 22nd NIH Scientific Conference, I take great pleasure in welcoming all of you to this
           conference.

I am so hounoured that for this year’s NIH Scientifiec Conference, the NIH had invited the APACPH-KL to host
this prestigious conference with the theme "Heal, Innovate, Change and Improve for a Healthy Nation".

To those not familiar with APACPH, it is an international non-profit organisation comprising of many respected
and influential Public Health institutions in the Asia-Pacific region which are dedicated to improve professional
education and training for public health. The goal of the Consortium is to achieve the highest possible level of
health of the respective populations of all the nations via multisector collaborations. It has developed into an
organisation which has raised the bar for public health standards and community awareness worldwide.
The idea of healthy nation has been around for a period of time. I believe that each individual should aspire to
live in healthy conditions and to have access to a quality healthcare. Health is a prerequisite for economic
development. Spending on health should not be seen as a cost, but rather as a long-term investment. A
healthy community represents a strong workforce that can drive a country's productivity and growth.
Imagine a world where everyone is healthier than ever before. A world where chronic illnesses, infectious
diseases, non-communicable diseases, cancer, or even the newly emerged pandemic are eradicated. A future
where life expectancy increases, maybe surpassing 100 years old! In these visions of the future, it all starts with
what we do today - as society changes our habits and routines through innovation and legislation, wellness
           levels could skyrocket.
It is my sincere hope that this conference will be a blessing to us and the world in general. Thank you for your
whole-hearted participation in this great gathering of intellectual key players.
