1.4 How to select the right type of questionnaire to
validate?
A researcher will frequently use a previously validated
and published questionnaire as a basis of reference for
adapting it to the specific purpose of a new study by
tailoring it to fulfill the specific objectives of the new study
in order to save time and resources. To achieve this, a
researcher will have to validate a previously validated
questionnaire by ensuring that it also serves as a valid
measure for the specific group of respondents who are
being examined in the new study. However, a researcher
