Chapter 1: Introduction





                  A questionnaire is a universal tool that has


           commonly been used to collect relevant and intended


           information from the respondents of a survey. The

           researchers o en use the questionnaire to collect the


           relevant information from the respondents in order to


           measure each of the variables or items constituting its

           domain of interest, and also for addressing the objectives


           of a research study. Assume that a validated questionnaire


           was created in a non-native language, such as English,

           because it was intended for English-speaking respondents.


           If the original English version of these questionnaires must


           be administered to a group of non-English-speaking


           respondents, we must first ensure that the original
