Assistance from palliative care unit, Hospital Selayang

We actually had very good assistance from palliative care unit, Hospital Selayang. We are very
thankful for that because there were cases where patients’ medications had finished; family
members were fearful of going back to the hospital. Family members asked us for help. When
transportation was delayed and medication orders did not reach us, Hospital Selayang’s palliative
care unit was very efficient with topping up medications. We managed to liaise with them and
family members just have to go pick up the medications at the hospital. We would discuss the
case with them, and they would let us know how to go about so, patients would be able to obtain
medications directly, bypassing the A&E Department.
