WEBINAR SERIES
ON COVID-19
This weekly live webinar on COVID-19 is jointly organised by
Malaysian Society of Infection Control and Infectious Diseases
(MyICID) & Institute for Clinical Research (ICR), National
Institutes of Health (NIH) Malaysia. This is a continuation of
the “Clinical Updates in COVID-19” Webinar Series which was
conducted in the 2nd quarter of 2020. The objective of this
weekly webinar is to disseminate knowledge on COVID-19
management and infection control practices to medical
practitioners in the public and private hospitals in Malaysia.
This is also a Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
activity for Health Care Providers in Malaysia.
As of 3 March 2021, a total of 5 sessions of live webinars have
been conducted and broadcasted on various social media
websites every Wednesday afternoon. A wide range of
topics related to COVID-19 were covered, which are further
described below:
WEBINAR 1: MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF COVID-19 AND
CASE STUDIES
Learning points and summaries of clinical cases and medical management in COVID-19
were presented by Dr Yasmin Gani, Infectious Disease physician working as a consultant
in Hospital Sungai Buloh. This session was moderated by Datuk Dr Christopher Lee Kwok
Choong, senior consultant Infectious Disease physician, president of Malaysian AIDS
Council and former Deputy Director General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
WEBINAR 2: RECOGNIZING COMPLICATIONS OF COVID-19
Learning points and summaries which focused on recognizing complications of COVID-19
were presented by Dr Lee Heng Gee, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and State of Sabah
Infectious Disease Consultant. This session was also moderated by Datuk Dr Christopher
Lee Kwok Choong.
WEBINAR 3: CRITICAL CARE OF COVID-19
Learning points and summaries which focused on Dr Lee
Chew Kiok, Head of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Hospital
Sungai Buloh (HSB). This session was moderated by Dr
Shanthi Ratnam, Consultant Intensivist and Physician in
Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia.
