The Institute for Clinical Research (ICR) has organized
a “Research Dialogue” event on 17 January 2023 at
Auditorium 2, National Institutes of Health (NIH). This
dialogue was aimed to allow researchers to share
their proposed studies for constructive feedback from
various experts. Additionally, it was also hoped that the
platform can be used to create more opportunities for
collaborations.
The Research Dialogue was attended by 80 individuals
from various healthcare backgrounds, including public
health physicians, orthodontists, medical officers, Presentation by Dr Kim Wee Ric on Digital Surveillance
pharmacists, researchers, and nurses. Representatives and Virtual Monitoring using artificial intelligence
from different institutes within NIH, Clinical Research
Centres within the Klang Valley, Pharmaceutical
Services Programme, Disease Control Division, hospitals,
and nearby health clinics also attended the session to
provide their expert opinions.
The session started with a welcome message and
introduction by the former Director of Institute for
Clinical Research Datuk Dr. Kalaiarasu M Peariasamy.
This was followed by 15 research project presentations
by the participants with topics ranging from drug
utilisation, AI-assisted breathing sensors, clinical trials
on novel drugs, surveys to digital surveillance.
The ICR Steering Committee and the Research
Dialogue secretariat also continued the engagement
with the presenters after the session to provide further
recommendations on research questions and study Attendees of Research Dialogue from multiple institutes
within and outside of NIH
design. It was hoped that this could be the starting
point to foster collaborative research initiatives with
the ICR
