research, and human resource development. It is also hoped that this course will encourage networking
between the various participants’ institutions and IMR to foster the exchange of expertise and collaboration
in research projects.
On the other hand, the DAP&E was initiated at IMR, Malaysia in 1970. Yearly, the DAP&E is conducted from
July-December. For 2023, the course will be held on the 8th of May 2023 until 12th of November 2023.
The course was designed to train Medical Doctors, Scientists, and other health personnel in basic and
advanced Parasitology and Entomology, as well as skills in conducting research, diagnostic services, and
approaches in control programmes.
The objective of the course generally is to provide an overview of the major parasitic diseases of man and
their vectors.
