INSTITUTE FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH (ICR)’S INVOLVEMENTS IN
WORLD NEGLECTED TROPICAL
DISEASES (NTD) DAY
World NTD Day is an awareness day for addressing Neglected Tropical
Diseases (NTDs). NTDs are diseases that affect more than a billion people
around the world, targeting mostly rural regions, poor urban areas and
conflict zones. The diseases have devastating health, social and economic
consequences. However, they are preventable and treatable.
The celebration takes place every year on 30th January. This is the
anniversary of the 2012 London Declaration on NTDs, which united global
partners to push for greater action on these diseases.
Working under the banner of Uniting to Combat NTDs, with leadership
from the World Health Organization and support from the Crown Prince
Court of Abu Dhabi, more than 300 global partner organizations have
joined together to support World NTD Day in the year 2022. Institute for
Clinical Research was selected to be one of the partners for the second
year in a row raising awareness and pushing for greater actions to combat
these diseases.
Here are some of ICR’s involvements in conjunction with World NTD Day
Celebrations.
