               6.2.5 Work from Home Order

Since 22nd October 2020, the relentless rise in COVID-19 cases related to
the workplace had prompted the Malaysian government to impose the WFH
order 71-73 . This WFH order was made compulsory for those employed in the
management sector and supervisory staff who carried out tasks related to
accounting, finance, administration, law, planning, and ICT in both the
public and private sectors, in areas placed under the enforcement of the
CMCO such as Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Labuan, Sabah, and Selangor. Only
10% of these groups were allowed to be in the office three days per week,
clocking only 4 hours only each day from 10 am to 2pm 71-73 . Eight hundred
thousand workers in various industries, including an approximated 200,000
civil servants, were affected by this WFH order 74-76 . The WFH order was later
expanded to other areas placed under CMCO.
