Likert scale can be a five-point, seven-
point or even ten-point scale which is used by the
study respondents to express their level of
agreement to a particular statement. Instead of a
simple ‘yes/no’ answer, the Likert scale allows the
respondent to have varying magnitude of opinions.
One possible downside of this scale is that
respondents may not answer truthfully due to
social desirability (or expectations for social
norms) and hence, compromising the validity of
