Page 10 - MALAYSIA HEALTH SECTOR RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC: HOPE DESPITE ADVERSITY
P. 10
PERMANENCE, PERSEVERANCE,
AND PERSISTENCE
The year 2020 and 2021 are highlighted by the
COVID-19 virus pandemic that gave unprecedented
challenges to the whole world. COVID-19 pandemic
that is sweeping the world had impacted the socio-
economy aspect of many countries, and hence
gave a substantial effect on people’s basic daily
living. Many countries faced extreme challenges to
balance the approach of saving lives and livelihood
where Malaysia is not exempted from this.
In dealing with this challenge, Malaysia adopts
the ‘Whole of Government, Whole of Society
Approach, where the government had established
multi-cooperation between ministries, government
agencies, the non-governmental organisation at
various sectors as well as local communities. Public
health interventions will continuously be carried out to ensure that every level of
society regardless of status, age, race, or nationality will have equal access. This is in
concordance with the solidarity spirit of leaving no one behind.
We haven’t won this war against COVID-19 that is proven to be a pitched battle to
fight. Every one of us can play a crucial role in taking care of ourselves and the people
all around us. Social compliance and discipline at every level of the community are
desired. We must continue to remain vigilant. Let us join forces and unite our energy
to always comply with the advice and SOP at all times and places. Let us persevere
together through these challenging times and hope the coming days will be eased in
every affair.
