              Introduction
              Introduction
Weight loss is a natural process of weight management in life but the process and effectiveness varies
Electronic data collection system has been utilised in Ministry of Health Malaysia hospitals since
from individual to individual. This study attempts to assess the effectiveness of an Islamic approach of
1999. As the system was not an exclusive electronic platform, manual data entry played a huge role
the sunnah fasting (Mondays and Thursday) combined with healthy plating as part of a weight loss
in its use. This abstract briefly describes an implication from the manual data entry process that was
intervention through the views of the participants.

              Method
This qualitative study takes on exploratory approach in obtaining feedback from selected participants

of the intervention. Four groups of participants (two successful and two unsuccessful) were invited in
100 hospital admissions from a specialist hospital in Selangor were randomly chosen on-‐site and the

Similar pattern of findings were obtained upon subsequent replication of activity with samples from
other hospitals. Dataset linkage is one of the integral core functions in MyHDW, which requires
content interoperability between multiple electronic data collection systems for it to deliver its
intended function. Thus, these discoveries highlighted the importance of having patient
identification details to be entered correctly as a requirement.
