              IMR has the only Biomedical Museum in Malaysia which was built in 1928, with medically significant
              specimens, artefacts and rare old books. Containing the Historical, Rare and Endangered Species,
              Traditional  and  Complementary  Medicine,  and  Snake  Galleries,  it  showcases  a  repository  of
              10,000 dry and 5,000 wet specimens. The museum conducts archiving, taxidermy and research
              in biomedical collections. Exhibitions are held with collaboration of other agencies. Training and
              consultancy are also provided for universities, government and private agencies. The Biomedical
              Museum had 139 visitors in 2020 from government agencies, schools, universities and the public.
