However, in order to fulfil the third (c) and fourth criteria (d) for authorship set by
ICMJE, a biostatistician will have to read the final draft of the scientific paper and also to
agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work. Therefore, it is more demanding for a
biostatistician to fulfil both the third (c) and fourth (d) criteria, as the scientific paper will
usually go through several rounds of revisions before it can be finalized. Although this
seems to be a tedious process, it is worth mentioning that expending all these efforts for
the writing up of a scientific paper will prove useful for avoiding any potential conflicts on
authorship in the future.
