Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Network
(MHPSS)
Most hospitals and health clinics would have a Mental Health & Psychosocial Support
Network (MHPSS). We have a MHPSS team in Hospital Miri. It grew as we started
working through the pandemic. We focused on needs; it could be technologically
driven which is in line with the physical distancing; interventions have to be evidence
based. As we do have our clinical work, preparing for such a framework requires extra
work, hence we need to actually build a capacity. This is how organizations would
help in cultivating self-care and care for people around our social circle by giving
information, training and empowering people to look after themselves. Information
campaigns are important and could be done through Telegram. This has to last
beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
