Beyond R & D activities, NIH did not hesitate, but instead, buckled down

and readily joined forces with the service arm of MOH to provide services
beyond its original mandate in this challenging times. NIH joins health
personnel nationwide in this continual steep learning curve, such as in the
clinical care improvement of COVID-19 patients, notably in critical care,
conducting webinars linking national experts with clinicians nationwide,
benchmarking laboratories, even conducting round-the-clock COVID-19

testing, providing technical advice, training and consultancy and beyond.
            This Chronicle, a health systems
            initiative to share with
            Malaysians and everyone the
            health systems strategies of

Malaysia, has proven its worth. It
            also won the World Information
            Technology And Services
            Alliance (WITSA) Global ICT
            Excellence Awards 2020 in

            November 2020, Runner-up in
            the “COVID-19 Tech Solutions
            for Countries or Regions”
            category.

I commend and laud the efforts

of the MAera Team in making
            transparent, and available to all,
the public health game plan of
the nation, using such a creative,
            innovative evidence sharing
approach. One will never know Dr S Asmaliza Ismail
the value of a moment until it Manager

            becomes a memory. This
Chronicle captures both - the National Institutes of Health Malaysia
moments and the memories. Ministry of Health Malaysia
