Risk Assessment Criteria
District Risk Reduction Program (DRRP)
6 Nov 2020: Criteria include:
1. Rate of increase in cases - sudden increase reflects high transmission rate
2. Distribution of cases by geo-mapping, whether cases are concentrated or scattered
3. Percentage of non-symptomatic cases - a high percentage likely to cause transmission of
infection to go unnoticed
4. Population density - high population density, residential types such as shared houses
5. Local socio-demography - e.g. non-citizen population, mobility across districts due to
work or school, the existence of back alleys/entry routes (non-citizen entry) etc.
6. Shared infrastructure such as markets, supermarkets, schools, houses of worship and
other premises that are places of public gatherings
7. History of mass gatherings in a locality during the period of infection when the case is
first detected.
The impact of public health control and prevention measures carried out in the local area
are also taken into account, for example:
Number of close contacts associated with the case
Number given HSO under the Prevention & Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act
342)
Number sent to quarantine stations; and
Number of residents involved. §
