Allergy and Immunology Research Centre (AIRC) The Allergy and Immunology Research Centre (AIRC) is made up of the Allergy Unit, Autoimmune
Unit, Immunogenetic Unit, Primary Immunodeficiency Unit and Transplantation Immunology Unit.
01 To carry out collaborative fundamental and applied research
Transplant testing services for bone marrow and solid organ
02 transplants to determine compatibility which includes donor
testing, donor registration and donor follow-up for the Malaysian
Stem Cell Registry to aid patients requiring a matched, unrelated
donor transplant.
OBJECTIVES 03 The first and only Allergy Clinic in the Ministry of Health
04 Teaching students through courses, formal lectures and through
attachments
To provide advanced diagnostic services to patients in the public
05 and private sectors to screen, diagnose and monitor treatment
and disease progression of autoimmune disease such as primary
immunodeficiencies
The Allergy Clinic located at the Otorhinolaryngology (ORL/ENT) Clinic, Kuala Lumpur Hospital
(HKL) offers allergy care and tests for hypersensitivity reactions. The clinic collaborates with HKL
clinics/departments for the diagnosis of intra-operative anaphylaxis, urticaria and angioedema
and lesions which may be related to allergies.
