For the sake of brevity, it can be summed
up by saying that as long as the researchers have
been equipped with the knowledge on the four
different measurement scales, they will be able to
design questions that can be analysed, particularly
for a quantitative research study. This will also
help them to identify appropriate statistical tests
for performing subsequent data analysis. For
example, frequency along with percentage data
(%) is suitable for nominal and ordinal data; while
mean with standard deviation is suitable for
interval and ratio scales (provided that such data
are normally distributed).
