P. 97

For the sake of brevity, it can be summed

up by saying that as long as the researchers have

been equipped with the knowledge on the four

different measurement scales, they will be able to

design questions that can be analysed, particularly

for a quantitative research study. This will also

help them to identify appropriate statistical tests

for performing subsequent data analysis. For

example, frequency along with percentage data

(%) is suitable for nominal and ordinal data; while

mean with standard deviation is suitable for

interval and ratio scales (provided that such data

       are normally distributed).
