● Dealing with Loss - The Psychological Processes
We have to listen properly to what the patients try to relay to us because as I have
mentioned earlier, every patient is special in their own ways. When we are trying to
make sense of these losses:
● there are patients who are COVID-19 positive;
● some are quarantined;
● there are people who need to be away from their family;
● some not allowed to visit their family members in the hospital.
It is important to take into account everyone’s point of views. Going through cases
that occur during MCO / CMCO, many patients who present to us came with
symptoms of anxiety. We know that this is a period of uncertainty, as people do not
know how to face this pandemic in the right way. This is the process of grieving or
bereavement.
