COVID-19

I think we do need to look out for patients with cirrhosis in COVID-19. This is an international
registry of a cohort of patients with chronic liver disease: 491 patients from 28 countries. In this
cohort, 209 are cirrhotic patients. The death rate of cirrhosis patients was 36% compared to 7%
for non-cirrhotic patients. The liver transplant patient fared better at 17%. The major aetiologies
are alcohol, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and viral hepatitis.
