interview or performing a diagnostic test by using a
specialized machine, especially when there are already
too many patients waiting to be screened.
Therefore, a questionnaire that is specifically
developed for diagnostic research can o en be used for
screening purposes, even though it may not be robust
enough to confirm a diagnosis. This can potentially save
the cost of healthcare for the patients since only those
patients who exhibit a higher cut-off score as determined
by the screening questionnaire will be required to undergo
further diagnostic tests for confirmation. Hence, this type
of questionnaire serves an important function by providing
a necessary complement to the existing diagnostic
procedures (Yunus et. Al., 2013).
